UNDERWRITE SUMMER CAMP TUITION FOR A CHILD

Miami Youth Garden’s Leadership Development program continues to make a significant impact on the Miami community in Brownsville, Liberty City, Little Haiti, and Westview Gardens. This summer, as we have each summer since 2014, our programs at community-based Family Life Centers will train young children and teens in leadership principles through an urban gardening curriculum and many typical summer camp activities.

For a modest tax-deductible donation of $160 ($20 x 8 weeks) you can help us ensure that no child will be turned away due to limited family resources.  With your generous donation, we will be able to further our mission of transforming the lives of 100+ children enrolled in our summer camps across Miami Dade County.  We hope you will consider a sustained gift in the future for the expansion of our outreach.

    DONATE FOR SUMMER CAMP SUPPLIES

This summer, as we have each summer since 2014, Miami Youth Garden’s programs at community-based Family Life Centers across Miami Dade County will train young children and teens in leadership principles through an urban gardening curriculum and many typical summer camp activities.  For our gardening initiatives we are constantly in need of items like potting soil, seed poles, garden plant supports, and containers or grow bags in which we can grow fruits and vegetables. Other camp supplies that enrich the day-to-day experiences of our campers include outdoor recreational equipment, balls, games, toy building sets, materials for arts and crafts and lots of healthy snacks.

Your tax-deductible gift of any amount would help defray the cost of these camp supplies and help us provide quality recreation and stimulating interactive experiences for our campers.

    AFTERSCHOOL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM

Miami Youth Garden is hoping to launch its Afterschool Enrichment Program in August, 2023.  Recruitment and registration will begin June 1st.  Our goal for the first year is to have at least 40 enrolled students, programming out of our main site at Faith Community Baptist Church.  We fully expect MYG to invest the bulk of the start-up costs for this program, but due to the modest contribution expected from parents, additional funding and support will be necessary to accomplish our goals.  Our proposed budget to begin this initial operation is $53,600 (see details below), consequently, we are looking for financial and in-kind contributions from foundations, corporations, and philanthropists to make the Afterschool Enrichment Program a great success!

Please join us as we continue planting seeds of purpose to empower our youth by making your tax-deductible contribution today.

    CHAMPION TECHNOLOGY ENHANCEMENT

Miami Youth Garden’s Seed-to-Harvest (STH) leadership development curriculum is standardized throughout our summer camp program sites. Our teen workshops include lessons that inspire personal growth using ethical, faith-based principles that enhance student confidence and increase academic achievement.  These workshops are currently conducted on the Zoom platform with teens using their personal cell phones to participate.  We would desperately like to upgrade our technology by providing access to laptops at each camp location and technology hardware at our main site, including a desk top computer, projector, and screen.

Your tax-deductible monetary gift or in-kind donation of any of these items would greatly enhance our technological capabilities to better serve our teen-counselors-in-training as well as our young campers.
