BRADLEY JEAN-JOSEPH

MASTER GARDENER

Since completing Master Gardener training in 2017, Bradley JeanJoseph has become a valued member of the horticultural team at Miami Youth Garden, Inc. He began this career tract by volunteering for Urban Green Works developing culturally inclusive programs with Roger Horne, a Master Gardener in his own class.  Building expertise, they soon assumed full responsibility for the vegetable gardens, perennial gardens, and raised beds in Miami-Dade County.

Bradley JeanJoseph, first generation of Caribbean descent, also conducted research and implemented practices to make the gardens similar to those likely planted by the families living in Haiti and Jamaica in the late 1800s & 1900s.

In 2022, Bradley began collaborating with MYG’s original Master Gardener, Diane Torres, to facilitate our Summer Camp Program including a STEM curriculum focused on creating birds and pollinator gardens at several faith-based location sites across Miami. These new garden spaces are dedicated to educating children and families about the importance of native plants.

Bradley earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science with a minor in Business Management from Barry University.  He firmly believes that the Community Gardening program helps build local communities and economies.
