Alexis Forston grew up in Miami and started with Miami Youth Garden as child camper. She excitedly proclaims, “I loved every year I spent at MyG Summer Camp!”. She eventually became a camp counselor and has taught math and physical fitness at several of our sites. Alexis is currently a student at Tennessee State University in Nashville, Tennessee where she studies social work with a concentration in criminal justice. She plans to become a social worker for the juvenile justice system.
Alexis takes pride in making a positive impact in the lives of those placed in her care — no matter the circumstances. She looks forward every summer to working with Miami Youth Garden, helping the kids in our community to develop leadership skills and learn valuable life lessons. Mentorship is her passion!
